Lambert’s Cove has lots of families and visiting boaters. It’s a pristine beach with sand like sugar. If you can nab a friend in WT, it’s definitely worth the hike in, but the parking lot can be a challenge.
If you rent a house or stay at an inn in West Tisbury, you can go to Lambert’s Cove Beach. Sandwiched between the high scarps of Makonikey Head and the billionaire’s retreats of Paul’s Point, Lambert’s Cove is indisputably the finest stretch of sand on the relatively protected waters of the Island’s North Shore.
No pounding surf here, but plenty to look at with the pretty boats of summer coming and going in search of a good puff of the southwest wind or a mess of terns diving and singing over a school of blitzing blues.
Vineyard Visitor is published by the Martha's Vineyard Times Co., and provides insight into the Island's establishments: restaurants, galleries, retail, real estate, hotels and resorts, inns and B&B's, and year-round events.
