The Vineyard Haven Business Association has the town of Tisbury gearing up for a busy and spirited December. It all starts on Dec. 10, where you can get the bulk of your holiday shopping done with great deals, for a great cause.

The second annual Shop2Share kicks off the holiday happenings, bringing together many Vineyard Haven businesses. This Sunday, 10 percent of all sales at participating businesses go to the Vineyard Committee on Hunger, which works to feed over 200 Island families in need. Some of the participating businesses include Bunch of Grapes, LeRoux, Stina Sayre, Green Room, Rainy Day, Sarka, Copper Wok, Citrine, Nat’s Nook, CB Stark Jewelers, 51 Art, Beach House, Leslie’s, and more.

From 11 am to 2 pm, kids and families can jump on a free hayride that takes you through town. Bundle up and enjoy holiday Main Street decor. Head over to Bluewave Body Co.’s brand-new storefront on Union Street for a cookie-decorating party. At 2 pm, the Capawock theater will offer a free screening of the animated film “Arthur Christmas.” All Shop2Share events are sponsored by the Vineyard Haven Business Association.

If your kids were scavenging Main Street, Vineyard Haven, looking for pumpkins back in October, the same sort of thing is coming downtown this December, only with snowballs. On Thursday, Dec. 14, the annual Great Snowball Hunt begins. It starts at Bunch of Grapes bookstore, where kids can pick up their hunt guide, and search the town for hidden snowballs. Kids can drop off their finished maps back at Bunch of Grapes in exchange for a goodie bag, and enter their names for a chance to win a raffle prize. The hunt ends on Tuesday, Dec. 19, and the winner of the raffle prizes will be announced at the Beach House Gift Shop around 3 pm.

Friends and Family Night is also on Thursday, Dec. 14, where Vineyard Haven shops will be open late, and a live DJ will perform in town.
