Made on MVY: Bad Martha Beer

Bad Martha began bottling its Martha’s Vineyard–inspired beers in 2012. In the summer of 2013, the Farmer’s Brewery opened; it handcrafts more than 20 delicious beers in a beautiful garden setting on Upper Main Street in Edgartown. Bad Martha’s business model is truly local: They use fresh Island ingredients in their beer, give their used grains to local farmers for happy cows and pigs, and donate a portion of their profits to a local hunger-relief charity. Bad Martha believes in three things: great beer, getting bad, and doing good.

Bad Martha’s Farmer’s Brewery offers tastings, farm-fresh food platters (including Grey Barn cheese), tours of the brewery, live music, and family-fun games on its outdoor garden patio through the summer season. Growlers can also be purchased to take home. Draft and bottled beers can be found at many restaurants, bars, and liquor stores throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut.
