I love to go walking through Menemsha Hills [Reservation] and end up on the rocky beach. There’s a flat rock there that seems to fit my body just fine. I lie on it, finding a second and smaller rock to cradle my head. I listen to the waves and watch the clouds. Even if other people make the long trek to the beach, they seem to recognize that this resting body is meant not to be disturbed.
