Formerly a sail loft, a whale oil factory, a grain store and a boat builder’s workshop, the distinctive building now known as the Old Sculpin Gallery, home of the nonprofit Martha‘s Vineyard Art Association, is more than 240 years old. Its gallery displays Island scenes by member artists in group and solo shows. The Old Sculpin Gallery has its own permanent collection of paintings and offers art education for children and adults.
The Martha’s Vineyard Art Association is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year with a special exhibit titled “Reflections: Celebrating our MVAA History”and other events throughout the season.
The Old Sculpin Gallery, a historic landmark on the Edgartown waterfront, is a visual arts center and a gallery where artists of the Martha‘s Vineyard Art Association show their work.
